Quote
"‘But you can’t give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they’re strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That’s how you’ll end up, Mr. Bell. If you let yourself love a wild thing. You’ll end up looking at the sky.’"

— Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany’s

So I had some free time to myself this evening as its E-learning week (no tuts/labs). Wasting my time in the form of facebook and chanced upon a tagged note by ZY few years back. A quote from Andre Agassi’s biography. I shall cut n paste here as a constant reminder to fight for what I want and not wait for it to drop from the sky.

Que lindo es sonar despierto, Gil says. How lovely it is to dream while you are awake. Dream while you’re awake, Andre. Anybody can dream while they’re asleep, but you need to dream all the time, and say your dreams out loud, and believe in them. In other words, when in the final of a slam I must dream. I must play to win. But dreams, I tell Gil, are so damned tiring. He laughs. I can’t promise you that you won’t be tired, he says. But please know this. There’s a lot of good waiting for you on the other side of tired. Get yourself tired, Andre. Thats when you’re going to know yourself. On the other side of tired.” -Adapted from Open, An Autobiography by Andre Agassi

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

The shortest love tragedy:

You don’t want me to know that you’re still thinking about me. I don’t want you to know that I’m still thinking about you.

The End.

Studying is good because you can do it on your own, because all the things are already dead, cold and chewed-over. The pages of textbooks are all the same temperature, that they leave you time to choose, that they never hurt you and that you can’t hurt them either.
